Is there a ‘male menopause?

Yes! Its official name is “andropause” which is the midlife decline of androgens: the male hormones DHEA and in particular testosterone. Testosterone is the most potent force underlying mental and physical energy in men.

When a man is entering andropause one of the first things he may notice is a subtle decrease in his strength and energy as his hormone levels begin to taper off. Excessive stress, weight gain and lack of exercise can lower testosterone levels even further.
